Poems about Jesus.
Each Sunday, I plan on taking a break from devotional-type writing to share an original poem.
GLOOMY DAY
My being brims with gloom
I cannot understand why
Impending doom seems eminent
The nightmares horrify
Others are all around me
Yet I am in isolation
This place feels empty
Despite the population
Seclusion I long for
But it does not satisfy
The monotony of my aches
Silence fails to pacify
I cry to the Lord in my trouble
He delivers me from my distress
The Lord brings me out of darkness
Away from the shadow of death
These bonds I wear
Have been burst apart
He sent out His word
And delivered me from the destruction of my heart
Let me be wise
And attend these things
How do I deserve the steadfast love
Of the Lord of Lords and King of Kings?
