Poems about Jesus.
Each Sunday, I plan on taking a break from devotional type writing to share an original poem.
ONE SET OF FOOTPRINTS
You created the heavens
And the earth
Yet your footprints were unseen
Sarah laughed at the prospect
Of giving birth
Yet your footprints were unseen
Pharaoh was in pursuit
The Red Sea you did part
Yet your footprints were unseen
Daniel was thrown into the lion’s den
But was not torn apart
Yet your footprints were unseen
Jonah fled and was swallowed up
By a fish of epic proportions and lived
Yet your footprints were unseen
The Israelites were starving
A rain of manna from heaven did you give
Yet your footprints were unseen
My anguish overtook me, convicted of sin
God, how can I ever be made right with you?
One set of footprints did I see
They were Yours, Lord
Carrying me to the foot of the cross
Where Jesus died for me.
