Timor Domini = Fear of the Lord in Latin
PART SIX OF SIX
This week I have written about what fear is, what fear is not, how to get fear, and fearing not.
Are you in fear right now? I am talking about a destructive fear, not a healthy fear. There are two things that can give you hope and deliver you from this destructive fear: faith and love. You cannot completely trust God and be paralyzed by fear at the same time. Fear is a fiery dart of the devil and if you have let fear take over your life, by faith, right now, trust in Jesus to take this fear away from you. 1 John 4:18 tells us “there is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear.” There is but one perfect love, the love of God. If you let God’s perfect love fill your heart, there is no room for destructive fear.
Right now, can you say, “Yes, I have a reverential awe for God’s power and glory and a proper respect for His wrath and anger?”
Are you truly casting all your cares on Him with a Kingdom mindset? There is no fear involved if we are doing this.
Does the way you are living your life point to a healthy fear of the Lord?
If we are not following Jesus at all or improperly, there is good news. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.
Fear and you will Fear Not.
Just for today, meditate on the truth.
Tune in tomorrow for Song of Sunday.
